Background The London Access Group (LAG) was an informal partnership of six London Boroughs, the Association of London Government (now London Councils) and Transport for London that was brought together in 2003 through a common interest in advancing mobility management techniques through best practice. The LAG is committed to the principles of mobility management and strives to further the advances already made in this field through learning, setting and disseminating best practice by working with cities across the expanded European Union and beyond. It aims to act as a conduit for information for London on European projects, policies and plans, and assist wherever possible in outlining future funding opportunities and areas of work that meet the aspirations of the group. It also seeks to promote the interests of London and the London boroughs in a European context. The success that the LAG has already had, and the potential there is to increase this level of achievement, has resulted in the in the creation of the LEPT initiative as a full-time resource to coordinate these activities. The LAG now forms the steering group at LEPT, to advise on the direction of the work programme.
